Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been married to Tim, the man of my dreams for 23 years and we have a 17 year old son, Cameron. God has truly blessed me with my family and my business. I never dreamed He would give me a “job” that I am so passionate about that is as much a part of me as my family!
In 2003 I was working in a doctor’s office as an insurance clerk hating to be “chained to a desk” all day long doing paperwork. I had been there for 7 years and thought I was happy. I had gotten “employee of the month” several times and had “climbed the ladder” since starting to work there 7 years prior. However, I got bored and restless having to be in the same place all day long. I wanted to be “out there” doing something else but I didn’t really know what. I am not a person that likes a “routine”. I asked to work part time, but my job required full time hours. The thing I enjoyed most about my job was our patients. I am a “people person”! The people I worked with were very dear to me also.
Then one day a friend of mine asked me if I’d like to go to the jewelry market with her. I had no idea what to expect, but I was so excited because I LOVE jewelry! Well, the moment I walked in I knew I had to figure out a way to make jewelry MY business! Within a couple of weeks I was dreaming of quitting my ho-hum job and working for myself. I knew it was going to take a huge leap of faith, and after discussing it with my husband we began to pray about it. God made it very clear to us that it would work if we put our trust in Him.
It only took 4 months to make the decision to quit my job and start Sassy Girl! I have never regretted it! The money is great and the fringe benefits are a blast! I love to travel and I never thought I’d be able to TRAVEL and SHOP for a “job”! I travel to markets all over the country to shop for the latest jewelry designs. I recently went to the Las Vegas Market and stayed at the Venetian Hotel at a discounted rate because I was attending the jewelry show. If it weren't for my business I'm sure I would have never experienced Las Vegas or the LUXURIOUS Venetian Hotel!
I take advantage of opportunities to travel to big cities to hold shows. I DEARLY LOVE all the people I meet that love jewelry as much as I do!
I started a new “phase” when I designed this website back in November 2006. It's a constant process that I enjoy. I opened my first Sassy Girl store in the Alexandria Mall for the Christmas holidays of 2007. It was a huge success! Since I don’t like to be “tied down to a job” I decided to make my store a temporary seasonal store only. I am continuing my shows and website sales so I can still have my freedom. Sassy Girl is so fun it’s hard to call it a job!
